Mueni is one of the most popular basket weavers in her village. If you ask for someone a good weaver, you will be directed to Mueni. She is the chairlady of Kyeni kya Kyanziu women’s group and weaving is her full-time job. She is delighted to work for Mifuko, especially because she has been able to cater for her family needs from her incomes. Weaving two large baskets and three medium basket a week, she earns five thousand shillings every month. Mueni plans to open a food kiosk as a side income source, where she can sell maize flour, tealeaves, milk and bread. Mueni is gratefully to Mifuko because weaving keeps her busy.
